Mid-Century Modern National Register Nomination

Once considered an eyesore from the interstate, this former Holiday Inn transformed into a historic renovation project. Originally a hotel struggling for viability until Hurricane Katrina, it was purchased with plans for restoration as a residential development. Collaborating with the developer, we nominated the building as part of the non-residential Mid-Century Modern Architecture in New Orleans (1935-1975) nomination for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places, which opened eligibility for historic tax credits.
